Exfoliate for Better Skin

You hear it all the time! Exfoliate! What does it mean? What does it do? How does it benefit you? Exfoliating has always been one of my favourite skincare steps. I use the Sweet Sensation and gently massage it into my skin to manually remove surface debris. I truly embrace and bask in the moment, it just feels so wonderfully refreshing, like a skin reboot. Besides clearing away dry and dead skin, a regular exfoliation habit increases your skin’s radiance, clarity, and youthfulness, for a start.

  1. It unclogs pores: When you’re exfoliating your skin, you’re effectively unclogging your pores. You are literally sweeping away dead and dry skin, along with other surface debris that might remain on your skin after cleansing. This will also help prevent blackheads from occurring.
  2. It prevents acne: Just like unclogging your pores prevents whiteheads and blackheads, it also prevents other blemishes such as acne. Less skin irritations and breakouts. Some might take this to mean they need to scrub their skin raw to prevent acne but the truth is, if you follow your regular exfoliating regimen, you’ll notice a decrease in acne without forcing the results.
  3. It evens skin tone: this is especially good news for people with dark spots, rough texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars. It’s frustrating to treat those spots and it can take months of patience and exfoliation to remove but they will eventually be gone which is all that matters.
  4. It boosts circulation and lymphatic drainage: exfoliation has many great benefits, including stimulating the lymphatic drainage for internal cleansing and stimulation of oxygen-rich blood to feed and nourish the skin’s surface. This is a great way to detoxify your skin.
  5. It creases cell turnover: aside from the increased circulation, exfoliation also boosts the skin’s radiance by keeping the skin fresh, and healthy – ensuring only healthy cells are at the surface. In terms of appearance, this results in that ultra-dewy and baby-faced complexion we all strive for.

Exfoliating has a LOT of great purposes and I hope that you commit to your exfoliating regimen.
